Great lighting, pretty good value, low heat
In "low scientific" measurement, I used a light meter to measure light output of existing 60 Watt incandescent bulbs - I no longer have the package for those so I don't know what their light output rating is. I replaced those bulbs with these 40 Watt equivalent LED bulbs, and I found them to be brighter, both by observation and when measured with the light meter. My goal is not to post exact gains in Lumens here; I was curious if I would lose some lighting capacity when I replaced existing 60 Watt bulbs in a ceiling fan with these "40 Watt" equivalent bulbs. I actually gained some brightness and that's what I was hoping for. Of course, bulbs vary widely but that's how it worked out in my case.I like these bulbs - they look nice enough (and they are much nicer looking than most CFL bulbs), and they create pleasant, bright light. I am fitting most of the ceiling fans in my home with these bulbs, and I have several different kinds of dimmers. In every case they work great with my existing dimmers.I also like that these bulbs put out very little heat, especially compared to the incandescent bulbs I replaced. There is a heat sink on the bulb, but it does not get very warm and creates much less heat than the incandescent bulbs I replaced. This is a plus in my Texas home since our summers are HOT and it helps to make the air conditioning system's job just a little easier. So not only does the bulb use less energy, it also helps the climate control to use less energy as well, since the bulbs are not raising the indoor air temperature as much; less cooling is needed (even if only a little less) to get the room cooled. Any improvement is welcome!I've purchased several sets of these bulbs, some over a year ago, and all of them are still working. I can't speak for the reliability claims on the packaging of 20 years or more, but I have had no problems with reliability in over a year of ownership.I have never much cared for CFL bulbs - I find they often don't last as long as they claim, they don't fit as well in some light fixtures, they're unattractive (but getting better looking lately, I acknowledge), most are not dimmable, and they contain Mercury and are thus not so great for environment when it comes time to dispose of them. LED bulbs, while still fairly expensive, address most, if not all, of these issues.

Good product
I have purchased around 46 of Feit's led bulbs. They range from round globes above our vanity in the bathroom to the flame like bulbs in the chandelier of our dining room. I have over 30 of this style or similar bulb. Some are dimmable and others are not, and some were purchased almost three years ago. Overall the product seems great. I have continued to buy these, as they are efficient and are bright instantly. My old CFL bulbs take a minute to warm up and get bright, and they seem to burn out much faster than advertised.Overall I rate this a four, only because I have had one defective bulb. This was about two years ago. The bulb started flickering if it was left on for twenty to thirty minutes. I exchanged it with another one in the house to determine if it was the bulb or my house only to find out it was the bulb. Their customer service is the only reason they are getting a four star review. Their service would have been great had they just shipped me a new replacement. They wanted to me ship the defective one to them, and I was glad to so, only didn't feel like it was my problem to pay for shipping on their defective part. I wanted reimbursed for shipping. I can understand why they don't ship out free bulbs to anyone that claims one is defective, but I feel it was unreasonable to ask that I do without being compensated equally. I am sure with any manufarcturing that it is inevitable to have a few defective parts, or products. I do hope that in the last two years Feit has worked on its customer service. If they have, I have no doubt that they can become the standard that competitors will have to measure up to. Good luck FEIT

They put out a very good white 40 Watt light
These 7.5 Watt LED bulbs put out what is supposed to be 40 Watts of illumination. They put out a very good white 40 Watt light. It says that they are dimmable and that may be with a special dimmer. I put some bulbs in my ceiling fan. The fan has a built in dimmer but the bulbs did not dim in the fan. I put 4 bulbs in another Ceiling fan and the lights would randomly go on and off one or two at a time. I reinstalled the incandescent bulbs and random on/off stopped. Be careful even though these bulbs are rated at 7.5 Watts, they do get hot after a while. I was told that they should not be put inside of an enclosed globe or they will burn out. I have mostly CFL and LED bulbs throughout my house.
