The waistband doesn't hold up over time and the ankle cuffs are too tight.
I had to cut a slit in the ankle cuffs to get my foot in and out. The midsection doesn't stand the test of time. They get lose too quick. On the positive side they are warm.

THEY ROCK!!!!!
I just bought these for my husband who builds ships in the northwest and is always working outside in the very cold, windy elements on the/next to the ocean. We have tried other long johns/under clothes to keep him warm and they all have helped to some degree but he still complained of freezing his A** OFF. I got the whole Carhartt set thermal pants, shirt, and cold weather work boot socks. I followed the reviews stating they ran a little small and bought him (XL) which is one size up on the pants, they are a smidge baggy but will shrink down in the wash (he says they are already perfect) i bought the shirt true to size due to another gentlemens review, my husband typically wears a Large shirt so i got him a Large, fits perfect. Anywho, we got them and they are thick AF and durable. We typically love Carhartt products Beanies, jackets, work pants and coveralls. They are steardy and durable for hard work, plus its cute that my kiddos get to match dad. But I was worried when it came to these that for the price that i was just paying for name and not cold weather blockers. But my husband says they F'ing ROCK. SO WE WILL BE BUYING ABOUT 2-4 MORE SETS (pants, shirt, and socks for $76.??) AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO THOSE FREZZING YOUR BUTTS OFF JUST TRYIN TO MAKE A LIVING!!!! LOL or for those who just want them for liesure wear too. LOL 😂

definitely worth it
i am reviewing the item, not seller or experiences with them. i received the thermals and have worn them for three days now. I walk to work in freezing temperatures for about an hour every morning and they have definitely been helping with keeping warm. luckily i have gotten a ride home every night lol. I would say that they do still let in some cold, i am not sure if it is because even though I got size XL it seems to be very loose on me even though i usually do not have this kind o' room out of XL pants ever. but it could be because they are not always right against my skin to hold in the heat. I do say that my microfiber pajama bottoms do alot more for the warmth (pretty toasty), but they feel very baggy to wear under my street pants lol!? so yes they are well enough to wear in 10 degree temps, but they are not as warm as microfiber fleece. could have been a little warmer as temps around here can reach below thirty degrees with a windchill at certain times of the year. but as for the build of the item carhart did a great job in making a product that looks like it will withstand time, we will see.FOUR STARS!

Warm, works, no gimmick for half the money than the others
Let me preface my review by informing you that I work in commercial coolers and freezers with temps of 41- 37 and 0- -20 ( respectively).I got these after buying a pair of similar product from a well known manufacturer ( for twice as much money) with less than satisfying results.I bought a Medium ( 6'1" 200 lb ish). As expected- waist was perfect but legs were a little baggy ( similar to other reviews). Nights 1- 3, I worked in the coolers. I didn't notice any warmth or coldness. I didn't even realize thier presence.Night 4. I worked in the freezer. I got in the freezer. Again didn't notice any extra warmth or cold. I was comfortable working in the colder environment. Didn't evrn realize I was wearing them.Once I got out of the cold...... I felt a lot of heat coming from my legs ( especially in the femoral aspect ( inner part)). Granted, it wasn't uncomfortable and the heat dissapated rather quickly. I repeated the action several times, with equal results.I fell in love with them.Bottom line= you want to stay warm with something you don't realize you're wearing, and don't want to pay twice the money for some gimmick that may or may not work......... buy these

so I returned it and got the small one just today and wear it right away and it is comfortably warm, although I haven't tried it
I first order a medium thinking that they run small, but its too big for me, so I returned it and got the small one just today and wear it right away and it is comfortably warm, although I haven't tried it yet in super cold environment below freezing point but I think because the quality of the fabric, which is super dense, it will do so good, and I love that cotton feeling too, fits perfectly good around my waist 30" and legs area 20.5" middle thigh, I stood 5'7" 140lbs, just a little long on inseam but it works just fine, the kind of materials and the way it is made seems so much more durable than any of the others I've already bought and those I've seen in store, this garment is made of very very good quality, I will order the top and if it fits me well, I will order some more of these set for me and my son

Great Long Johns!
I purchased these with a matching shirt. I am 6'6" and 250lbs and wear a 36x38 in jeans. These fit perfectly. Waist would fit between 36-38, and the length covers my ankles- and not too tight either. I trust the Carhartt name for work clothes, and these do not disappoint. I work for a large tire company running service calls outside, and just this week in Chicago, our daytime high temps struggled to reach zero, with wind chills in the -40 range, and these kept me warm and dry- sometimes too warm if you are not outside. The keys to beating the cold are several layers starting with a good base next to your skin. The fit and performance is stellar. Would highly recommend to those working outside in the winter. The price is not too bad considering the quality and performance. My problem with long underwear has always been getting some that fit me good, and last longer than 1 season, and I like these so much, I will purchase another set of shirt and pants!
