most cheap stuff like this that is made in china is just junk. However you can't really mess up a keychain so here's where I don't mind so much buying dollar store junk in bulk. Great price, does the job perfect, and good bang for your buck. A bit smaller than I thought. The rings are about the size of a quarter.

As a registered professional mechanical engineer, I cannot tell you how valuable these pull apart key rings are in this day and age. There have been numerous vehicle switch recalls over the years. Part of the problem is people hanging all kinds of weight from an ignition switch that is not designed to carry that much weight. People have lost their life over ignition key failures while driving. Therefore, I always take the ignition key off of my key ring and only the weight of the key is born by the ignition switch. The balance of my keys stay in my pocket. This will extend the useful life of vehicle ignition switches while keep you safe. After using these pull apart key rings for years, I have never lost a single key. You just have to make sure that when you put the key back on your key ring that you give it a pull to make sure that it is latched. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who drives. These make great stocking stuffers and I have given them to everyone in our family.

These were poorly finished and about 25% of them wouldn't work properly. Very loose with excessive clearance. Not "premium" in any way, I have one of these from a quality manufacturer that is 10 years old, so much use that the chrome is wearing off and it is still tighter than any one of these that I got from this order. Wish someone would make them the way they used to, I would pay double to get good ones.

After reading some other reviews, I was concerned about the quick release mechanism failing - but it is working well, as designed. I am using it to attach an access fob - I have moved to a complex that issues fobs to control access to all common facilities, including the garage building - so no heavy load is applied. I do not think the quick release mechanism is designed to support anything heavy (say, more than a few keys). The key ring does add a bit of length to the entire key ring, but for my purpose, is manageable. I considered other types of "quick release" rings, but was at the end a bit unsure that it would be easy to fumble and open such other types sitting in my car and trying to get the fob off and on the key ring that is in the ignition of my car. Quite satisfied so far.

Some are great, others are not. Some of the balls on the quick release fall out and the whole thing falls apart. Others have worked well for the past few months.

Well I picked them because they were cheap, and they are. None have fallen apart the first day.I have a very old one that was machined and it held up for years, probably still would if I could find it. These are cast and plated. I bought the package and will replace as many as needed till they are gone..

Very happy with this product and the pricing. I have only just received them so I don't know how they will hold up, but if they are (as advertised) nickel-plated brass, I would anticipate that they will hold up fine and not rust. They have many uses, but I use them predominately to attach hemostats, knippers and other gadgets to my fly fishing vests, which allows me to detach them with one hand (which is very handy). Thay have many other similar uses and the ability to detach (and reattach) with one hand is a major plus.

I have a little rental property and change locks between tenants, and this just make my work a little easier. I bought a dozen this time, but I also bought another dozen a few years back. It is surprising how many keys that pass through my hands, and the price was great, and did this purchase without leaving the house. Amazon has really made my shopping easier.
