Solid Product
Pentel has never disappointed me and I love every one of their products that I've bought, including this pencil. It certainly beats wooden pencils and cheap plastic mechanical pencils. For me, investing in a few really good mechanical pencils (such as this one) has been one of the best decisions in my educational career. I've been using Pentel mechanical pencils almost exclusively for close to two years now and I would recommend anyone who is looking to step-up their pencil game check out this product. -The pencil keeps the lead super steady and in place when you are writing. This combined with the 0.5 mm lead allows you to be very precise. -The sleeve at the tip of the pencil keeps the lead from breaking and allows you to write in tight places and at wide angles. -Apart from some slight wobbling from the eraser, the whole body is solid and tough. -In my opinion, this pencil looks and feels pretty stylish and professional. The only con I can think of is that the eraser is a bit small and inconvenient to access, but I tend to carry a separate larger eraser so this wasn't really an issue for me. If you are looking for a reliable mechanical pencil that will feel great to write with and produce sharp marks, this may be the pencil for you.

I have several
These are about the best mechanical pencils I have ever used, i have had countless over the decades. The most common reason for replacement is from "borrowing" and not returning.

The best of the best.
Where do I start? This is a perfect pencil. The metal design makes it sturdy and I can tell this thing should last for generations. It's a perfect weight in the hand - not to light, not too heavy. You can tell this pencil is made with precision, there is no wiggle or play in any of the components. Also, people literally collect these things because they're so awesome and have so many optoins/choices. I could go on and on, but you get the point. The Pentel P205 is a very very nice pencil for surprisingly only a few dollars. What else could you ask for? .5mm lead is a perfect size for most applications. Get the .2mm Pentel Orenz as well and i promise you wont be bummed that you did.

So hamburger flipping elegant!
I just got mine in today, this pencil so far is great and for the price even better. I usually prefer heavier pencils (e.g. the alvin draft/matic) but this one was interesting looking (I liked the green, it's a bit different than your normal mechanical pencil which I used to blindly use not knowing there were more elegant writing utensils!!) so I had to get it. I love the 5mm led, it's small but not too small so it is the goldy locks of the leds. I only have one issue with it. I don't know about you other pencil users and your habits, but I have a habit of pushing the led back in after everytime I am done writing and when I try to do that with this pencil I have to be a little more rough than the other pencils I own which bothers me. But other than that for a not so heavy pencil I am enjoying it! It is also quite comfortable to write with so ya :)

I've been a fan for years
My kids use the cheaper pencils for school. I can't do that. This is the mechanical pencil that many of us grew up with. It's the one you keep rather than tossing when you wear out the eraser. The most important part is how the lead comes out. It comes out the correct amount when you push the top. You are much less likely to break lead over and over.

Excellent product.
Only used for a few days so far. But I am well pleased. .5mm leads are notorious for breakage with accidental excess pressure. Seems to feed colored leads easily. The needle tip protects the lead from abrasion and a short advance rate gives you much more control over exposed lead length than discount store mechanical pencils. ;-)

The Pentel mechanical pencil is an excellent writing tool. It offers a sleek, ergonomic design and a comfortable grip, making it easy to use for extended periods. The lead advances smoothly and writes consistently without breaking. The built-in eraser works efficiently, leaving no residue. Its durability and reliable performance make it a great value for money. I highly recommend it for students, professionals, and anyone in need of a dependable mechanical pencil.

You need to understand mechanical pencils to operate this beautiful piece of industrial design. It is heavy, it is for people with large middle finger writing divots, it is for those who appreciate precision in their tools. Add a staedler eraser and you're good to go.
