Performed as Expected
I purchased this to connect my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to any older projectors that I encounter in my line of work that only support VGA connections. At this time, I have only connected it to one projector, but it performed exactly as expected. There were no problems whatsoever, such as flickering or lost connections. Simply plug and play.I wish that it did not require USB power simply because that adds one more cable to my setup. However, it isn't a deal breaker and I feel that this purchase was well worth the cost.Should I experience any changes in performance, I'll be sure to update my review.Update: I just discovered something you may find important if you end up using this device. It may or may not occur on your computer, but it did on mine. When you plug in the adapter to your HDMI port, it automatically may attempt to send audio out though the HDMI port as well. This adapter does not handle audio, so you won't hear anything from your computer speakers, and potentially you won't hear anything plugged into your headphone jack (as I experienced). To correct this issue, I clicked on the volume icon in the system tray, opened the mixer, and selected a different output device. Presentation crisis diverted!

Really good price for this adapter
Really good price for this adapter. It is surprisingly difficult to find a converter for my Lenovo Yoga 720, which utilizes a Micro HDMI port as its only display port. This adapter works perfectly when used for mirroring to whatever display you are using (I was using a projector). However, I have run into a peculiar issue. Whenever I try to extend my monitors, so that I can look at one thing on my laptop screen and another on the projector, the image on the projector is dark and covered with bizarre lines. At first, I thought the adapter just didn't have enough power. It does have the option to plug in a micro USB to USB cord so that the computer can provide a little extra juice to the adapter. However, even with it plugged via USB, I could not find a way to fix this issue. Still, if you just need to duplicate your screen, you can't go wrong with this!

Solid product
This replaced another adapter that was shorting. I thought the laptop was the issue but it was the plug. This has solved that problem and is very well made

Good quality, could be better
I have been using this adapter to leverage my new Raspberry Pi and connect it to my home monitor and I have been successfully able to use it. However, sometimes it doesn't work and I have to restart my computer, only to find that everything was properly setup. Better quality on the material and outlet would have made this review a 5 star

Works
Another cable that was a mini hdmi to vga made my monitor have an input not supported error. This was plug and play. It looks great and works great!

A+ service
Product works as specified. One package was missing an adapter (not seller's fault). Contacted Cable Matters and they immediate resolved the issue replacing missing adapter. Will use seller again.

Good product, disappointed in Amazon/FedEx shipping
Product works as expected and the price point is great. I needed this adapter because the course I teach was moved to a room with a VGA projector with no adapter for microHDMI. I payed for one-day shipping and the product was transferred to an inconveniently-located FedEx pickup location because I was not at home when it was delivered. Very disappointed that this is the standard for Amazon orders that use FedEx. If you use one-day shipping and work during normal delivery hours, keep this in mind. I had to create a new lesson plan until I was able to make it to the FedEx drop-off location. I have since relentlessly lamented this Amazon/FedEx policy to my students (perhaps a fine lesson in 'first-world problems'?)

Perfect for Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, not for Razr Maxx
I teach a class at a local college. The room I teach in has a digital projector, but a HDMI connection was not run to the instructor station. I purchased this to connect my ASUS TF700T-B1-GR 10.1-Inch Tablet (Gray) to the projector for delivering presentations and covering material in general. It worked like I wish everything worked. I plugged it in and it just worked. No settings had to be changed or anything. I tried it with my Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX 4G Android Phone, Black 32GB (Verizon Wireless) and was excited that it worked. Unfortunately a few minutes in to using it with the phone, the connection starts to flake out. I didn't buy it to use with my phone, that would have just been a bonus anyway. As a side note, I do wish there were a better powerpoint viewer/player available for Android. I'd like something that renders animations and embedded videos exactly like it does on my computer. I've tried all the big players ( Documents To Go 3.0 Main App , OfficeSuite Professional 6 , Quickoffice Pro HD (Honeycomb Tablets) , etc) in this arena with little success. Suggestions?

Buy this if you like being frustrated.
Purchased for a work-from-home-because-Covid set up, and I needed a diddy-HDMI to VGA connector. Easy enough to set up, just plug the monitor into the big end, and the little end into the PC/laptop port. The connection was so flaky that my mum's poor little laptop almost had an aneurysm with the constant "Another monitor! Oh it's gone. It's back! Oh no, it's gone.", so after much screen swapping she's back to a direct diddy-HDMI to biggy-HDMI set up. Do not recommend.

Pretty good
This cable is of rather good quality, similar to the quality of apple cables, but in a better colour. The connectors are gold plated, which is also good (Apparently). The cable itself is rather thick, so will be quite hard wearing. I bought this item for my Microsoft surface, so that I could connect it to my TV or pc monitor and it does the job perfectly. The only reason that I don't give it 5 stars is that it is rather expensive compared to other options (However, it is half the price of the Microsoft version) But I believe that this one will be of superior quality. If you have a Microsoft surface, camera or micro HDMI enabled laptop and wish to connect it to a PC monitor or most modern TV's then accompanied with A VGA cable this is the perfect purchase and I would highly recommend it.Update: after about a month of use the cable started to not work properly, only working when held in a certain way (a bit like really old cheap earphones). Eventually the cable stopped working altogether.I have, as a result gone for a cheaper option, which can't be any worse quality.I would avoid this product and go for a cheaper alternative.

Works great - most of the time
I bought this adapter to allow me to connect my Samsung Series 9 laptop which has a micro HDMI output to VGA screens, projectors etc. It is a lot cheaper than the Samsung VGA adapter. It works great with the majority of things I have connected it to - plasmas etc. However, a word of warning. Read the compatibility data provided on the product page. I have encountered a few projectors which do not work when connected. To be fair, Cable Matters do provide an exhaustive compatibility list which is a lot more than some other equivalent products. I have not yet managed to isolate the exact incompatibility. So. Overall a great product and very good value. It is not really the fault of the adapter but you may find that it does not work with some devices - I suspect it is incompatibility with older projectors as it seems to work with some; works fine with every screen (ie plasma, PC screens etc.) I have tried it with. If I figure out the incompatibility I will provide an update.

Good lead works well, recommended.
Good adaptor lead, well made and feels like it will last in use. Got it for use with a Rasberry Pi 4 going straight to a standard vga monitor and works fine with no screen artefacts or distortion etc. Recommended

Works well
Great item, looks like the photo and works as expected.I bought this to go with my Samsung 900X3C ultrabook, as the native vga adapters are very expensive. This is an active converter, and works perfectly to connect it to a display. When it is plugged into the laptop, but no screen, it defaults to 1080p output, but then quickly switches to the screens actual resolution once plugged in.edit:After using it a couple of times since this review, I have had a couple of issues. It occasionally has an issue with colours, everything becomes very green. Unplugging it from both sides and in again usually solves this. Also it doesnt like every resolution. It had issues with 1680x1050
