Works well
I recently decided to try making sausage and bacon. And guess what? It's not near as hard as it seems like it might be, and this little tool is part of that.I used this with my Kitchen Aid mixer. After grinding and seasoning my meat I was able to easily feed the casings onto the 'nose' of the tube. Other reviewers and the advice in the book is correct- it works better if you will rub it with some olive oil before putting the casings onto the 'nose'.The most difficult part of using this is cleaning up afterwards. This does not come with a tool to push the left over sausage out of the tube when you turn the machine off. For this reason alone I would rank this a low five.Overall though, I have used this several months many times over lately and it seems to do the work fine. The metal means that it is a heavier duty stuffing tube than some of the plastic ones available.Enjoy,.

Just what I needed
Well made. One small blemish, no real issue, made it past QA. Will enjoy for a life time.

If you want to stuff sausage or slim Jim's with a # 5 grinder these are for you.
Yes, these are pricey, but they fit a number 5 grinder perfectly. Stainless is less likely to retain things that porous plastic would. They are just tubes however, so you need a support plate in your grinder where the grinder plate with holes usually goes. Now you could use that grinding plate, with your cutting blade, and add these tubes on the end, and grind and stuff your sausage at one time. This practice is not recommended by most manufactures, suggesting instead that you put a plate in the grinder with large holes used to support the auger, and feed ground meat into your sausage casings. That way the grinder has less work to do, and the result is better.

Stuffing tubes are well made and durable.
I bought these tubes for the Chef's choice meat grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aide blender. I figured they had to be more durable than the plastic ones I considered. I used the medium size tube to stuff 15 lbs of Italian sausage and it worked very well. I was able to guide the casing one handed and fill the grinder with the other hand at the same time. I think the only negative I have for these is that a rod or tube should be provided to push the last bits of meat out of the tube when you are finished. It would help with clean-up. Then again, I didn't see any other vendor offering this either.

3/8 tube is quite small
I bought the tubes because the ones that came with My Kitchen Aid sausage stuffer set (plastic) broke around the outside diameter. I did not think the 3/8 tube is very practical and on the larger tube the transition from the outer collar to the tube is too sharp so only the holes in the center cutting disk are used But at least they are sturdy and can take some abuse

Does the job
I like the fact they are stainless. I have used the medium tube for 4 batches of sausage and it works just fine.

Awesome for making summer sausages
Awesome for making summer sausages! I have never used the smaller sausage stuffer but I have no doubt it would work just as well as the large diameter. Much better than the normal kitchen aide tubes
