Great set!
Let's keep things in perspective here - FOR THE PRICE... this is a great set!Are the stands cheap? Yes. But they do what they're meant to do. Just be careful.Did a bulb burn out on me after being on for only a few minutes? Yes. But once again, if my only problem thus far is a bulb burning out... we're doing great.Did the hair light fall on my head? Yes. But I didn't balance the weight well. Make sure you have sandbags or weights lying around, you'll need them.My fiancee and I took our Save the Date pictures using this lighting set (along with CowboyStudio's backdrop, sold separately). I posted an example in the photos above (I messed with contrast a bit in the computer just to make the background darker, but other than that...).Your secret weapon is the hair light (the overhead light), make sure you get a set with the hair light! It just makes everything cooler!

Poor quality boom kit.
Got these today and realized this was a poor quality kit. The 1-page instructions are not for this light kit. I started with the boom kit, after two initial tries I figured out how it goes together. The Boom bends if you extend it using the small lightweight hair light/softbox. The tripod also bends if you extend it to get the light above your subjects. The small hair light soft box doesn't even weigh much but the boom and Tripod simply cannot handle it's weight. At initial setup the boom tripod seemed sturdy, but to my surprise the extension poles are thin and flexible. Didn't bother to remove anything else from the box and immediately processed a return. I never installed the bulbs or plugged it in. FAIL!Save your money, don't waste your time. Spend a little more money and get something with better quality light stands and boom kit. This kit will surely disappoint if you intend to use the boom hair light (it's worthless for the price of the kit), there are better light kits if you are only looking for softbox lights without a boom. StudioPRO seems to have higher quality lights stands as opposed to Cowboy, ePhoto and the other low end dealers.

My first lighting setup
This is my first lighting set up, I have used others from friends and I knew i didnt want an umbrella set up. The stands are way more sturdy than I expected. Took awhile to figure out the first time to set it up. I think it will always take awhile to set up the 2 boxes but the hair light one goes together in seconds. this works for what I want and thats just learning. Worth the money I spent for sure!

Surprisingly good and worth your money!
I had some trepidation ordering this item but it turned out to be rather well made and surprisingly easy to put the softboxes together unlike some other reviewed sets. The hair light isn't as good as I would like in terms of it's setup and balancing act but considering the cost it's still good enough. All items arrived well packaged and worked perfectly out of the box. The instructions are next to useless and only cover the softboxes not the hair light nevertheless it was easy enough to figure out how to put it all together and it went quickly and smoothly. I do recommend this product for beginning photographers or those just looking for a cheap softbox set!

Different Brand
I've used similar portable lighting kits and knew exactly what to expect quality wise. Ephoto let me down. One of the stands came with a piece that was too small to function. Unforgiveable in my opinion. The carrying case ripped apart second day. Instructions are awful. Video instructions on their website are also bad since they skip key parts of the assembly. 2400w implies that each of the 3 softboxes supports 800w. They do not they will blow fuses. Ephoto's customer service was very unhelpful. Not rude perhaps, but borderline. You can do a lot of great things with at setup like this. So, if you're looking at one I recommend getting one. BUT Fotodiox or Cowboy Studio. I've had much better experiences with both of those brands. You can replace the cheap crappy fuses that come with the kit with much better ones from Menard's that cost $2. Allowed the use of much more powerful lights. Worried about burning softbox though, so plan on using 100w equivalent CFL's or 4 200w incandescents without the softbox if I'm desperate for light.

Not worth it
I'm just going to cut to the chase here. Don't buy this. It may seem like a good deal, but it's not. The majority of this kit is cheap, thin plastic that WILL break sooner rather than later. Many broken bulbs upon delivery. Missing parts. I know, I know. The price is attractive, isn't it? You get what you pay for. I feel like such an idiot for ordering this. I ignored reviews that I had read. I just couldn't pass up the price. I can't tell you what to do, but if you want to waste your money like I did... go for it. You would be better off lighting a scene with lamps from Wal-Mart.
