YTC Chess Board (Recommended for 3 Inch Chess Set) Chessboard Game Classic

Perhaps I should blame the color monitor on my MacBook Air, but the frame around this chessboard is more orange than red, conflicting with my vision of a recently purchased American Rev chess set against a red, black, & white board. However, when the chess pieces arrived, they were also not true red either... so I guess that's a win! I knew after reading the other reviews prior to placing my order that the board was not wood and that I would need to add grid markings for orientation, but I thought I'd use that as a teaching/bonding experience with my 7 year old grandson. While the jury's still out on the board's durability, I like its weight... time will tell.

I bought this chess board for a chess set that I have had for over 40 years. I am happy with the board.

EXTREMELY disappointed in the quality considering the price was almost $50. I thought I would be getting a wooden chessboard, but this thing was made out of plastic and pressboard. The quality reminded me of the board games I used to play with as a child. Those games cost less than $10. I wouldn't pay more than that for this board.Also, do yourself a favor and don't buy through Amazon. Buy directly from the StealStreet website as they offer free returns there.

This chessboard is a gift for a friend that loves chess. The quality is clean and sturdy for its affordable price.
